This was the result of my cooking when I’m bored (I just threw anything good from the fridge in).
Here goes this easy ingredients:
1/3 Very Spicy House Vermont Japanese Curry
2 Chicken thighs (sliced in small bite size)
1 Chinese carrots
5 Small size soup onions
5 Small size potatoes (cut in half)
1 pinch of salt, pepper, sugar
Direction:
In a saucepan, pan-fry chicken thigh until golden before adding potatoes and carrots.
Add water (QS) and slowly boiled for 5 mins then add onions
Add 1/3 of House Vermont Japanese curry, continue boiling in high heat for about 10 mins
Check if carrots and potatoes are soft enough (depends on your liking)
Add a pinch of salt and pepper
Served with hot cooked rice. Enjoy!
NOTE: The spiciest pack I bought wasn’t that spicy at all. But that depends, I guess I must have got myself too familiar with those super spicy Thai food. I love Thai food.
It’s been six days since I started working at Beccofino Restaurante and Wine Bar, still, the anxiety never seem to go away. Beccofino is a ranked a five-star restaurant serving high class customers, those with handful of money to spend and never feel sorry to waste it like throwing a way pieces of unwanted papers. Singers and rock bands, politicians, bank executives, you name it. Lots of Japanese men too. This is a place where a bottle of wine is equivalent to or if to the extreme they could be worth even more than my monthly pay.
High quality Italian cuisine dishes are all under the lead of Executive Chef and Co-owner Chef Angelo Rottol. Best menu? Probably anything that has to do with pasta, beef, seafood, and of course, imported dish– Japanese Snow Crab ( O_O )
So here goes, Beccofino is located at the corner of Thonglor Soi 4, right next to Tops Marketplace Thonglor. Easy it is. All walk-in customers are always welcome but make sure to make a call for dinner reservation during Friday and Saturday.
I decided to make pancake today using recipe from allrecipes.com. Want to know how it turned out? Overall mixture was great, taste good, but the pancake itself was a bit too soft I had a hard time flipping. I added mashed banana just to give extra sweetness which is an all time favorite to my family. Also, I discovered my stove…the strength of the fire (if that’s the right term to say) is too strong even if I put it on low my pancake still burn. So I have to lift the pan up every now and then. I served three per plate with honey sauce and small butter dice. While I thought it was a disaster, my dad said he loves it! Eh?? A BIG surprise…. Of course it’s a compliment, but I expected a “not good enough” statement rather than “this is so good”. Yoshh! Will definitely try to make it again!
Winner of the 2006 season of the UK’s talent show X-Factor, Leona Lewis’s debut album Spirit first release under a partnership between Simon Cowell and Clive Davis. She’s my current favorite. The album contains quality songs, my favorites are Bleeding Love, Yesterday, I Will Be, and Better in Time.
300 g red bean or japanese azuki bean
200 - 300 g sugar
QS water
** yield 3 - 4 servings
DIRECTIONS:
1. soak the beans in plenty of cold water over night.
2. in a medium size saucepan, bring the beans water used to soak them to a boil in medium heat. make sure that water always cover the beans if not, add more water. when the beans become so soft that it can be crushed with your fingertips, drain some water out using the sieve. Do not throw away the water since we might need to adjust the thickness of the soup.
3. add fresh water to cover the beans and bring them to a boil once again. now add sugar and continue to boil it over low heat until. Boiling time depends on how soft you’d like the beans to be, this can take up to 2+ hours (be patient!).
4. serve hot and enjoy!
note: for Japanese style or zenzai (ぜんざい) it is important that the beans are so soft they became paste-like. usually served with square shape rice cake or moji (もち).
Which nationality could be more polite than the Japanese? Even their words and phrases show the most humble form more than of any language. I learned top three survival phrases from せんせい (sensei = teacher) today.
いらっしゃい (ませ)[irasshyai]–> May I help you?
おねがいします [onegaishimas] –> Please
かしこまりました [kashikomarimashita] –> Certainly. (I will do it)
This last phrase is very helpful if you happen to be working in a Japanese restaurant. Tolerance is very crucial. Do not even think of losing it like some Americans did. I had a friend who ended up getting fired from work just because customers asked too much that it annoyed him. Guess what? He fought with one of the customers, throwing stuff at the poor guy and that caused him his job. What a shame!
